The Vagina Dialogues

The first annual Vagina Dialogues was this past Thursday and it went great! Thanks to all the people who showed up and even more thanks to those who spoke during the open mic session. You were all so inspirational!

If you didn’t get to attend, that’s okay (not really because you missed an amazing event). The first half of the event was an open mic session and about 15 people spoke. There were poets, confessions, discussions, and dedications. Some people teared up from laughing so hard and others tried to smile to mask their tears. It was a very moving event and not a single person disappointed.

Next came the discussion part of the evening. Questions that were asked included the following:

How do you feel about hair ‘down there’?
What is the definition of hooking up?
What turns you on?
How do you feel about squirting?
What is the definition of a player? Of a slut? What are the similarities and differences between the two?

Like we said: if you didn’t come, you missed out. But never fear! The Vagina Monologues discusses all of these questions and more. We know you’re curious, so you should come see the show!

SHOW DATES:

February 24, 7pm

February 25, 2pm (ASL interpreted) and 7pm

All shows will be performed at the Tsai Performance Center at 685 Commonwealth Avenue.

Who Wants A Vagina…Plush?

Hosting or know folks who are hosting a production of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues?

I hand-make (crochet) Vagina Plushes, and I have sold them to universities that are hosting The Vagina Monologues, including UConn Stamford and PSU (NH) last year.

Originals are Ivory, Mocha, Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, but more exciting styles are coming this year like “The Marilyn” Custom orders are always welcomed!

Each plush should be sold for $10 each, and a portion of that money ALWAYS goes back to the production group to donate to a V-Day Spotlight Campaign, or use it towards campus programs that support the V-Day values.

What a neat idea!

This tumblr is all about The Vagina Monologues and our experiences as we rehearse and perform it! This blog will be written and updated by the production team, but feel free to send us messages on here or link us to your own tumblr! Today was our first rehearsal and it was awesome! We’re all looking forward to spending the next few weeks bonding and putting on the best performance ever!!
